Introduction

My philosophy of pastoral ministry is shaped by the Great Commission found in Matthew 28:19-20 and Acts 1:8. It can be explained with the acronym D-N-A. As we seek to reach spiritual maturity as fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ in the church, it is helpful to connect and equip God’s people with (1) a Divine Encounter, (2) Nurturing Relationships, and (3) Active Missional Living. The church leadership should cultivate an environment where the body of believers in the local church have an encounter with the Triune God through worship, Biblical instruction, and preaching of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

As the body is equipped with Biblical truth, they are to form nurturing relationships within the church body to edify one another with their spiritual gifts. Lastly, those who have been equipped are ready to go. God’s people are to evangelize those they encounter everyday as the Gospel is preached locally and as missionaries are sent out internationally (see Ephesians 4:11-16).
