July Missionary
The Eugene Mission
THis month’s featured missionary is our own Eugene Mission. Teams from Twin Rivers conduct services twice during each month, one for the men, and one for the ladies with children. Folks attending our services have mostly been very appreciative and even responsive. Please let the office know if you would like to help with these services.
“The Eugene Mission began in 1956 at 6th and Willamette Street above Johnson’s old furniture store. In 1967, the Mission moved to its present location on First Avenue. Since that time, several additions have been made to the main lodge. The Women’s building was built in 1979. The Mother and Children’s building was constructed in 1998.
We are a mission for homeless men, women and children. We provide food, clothing, shelter, Gospel and work therapy. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served daily. Clothing is freely available to me, women and children each day. The shelter is open 24 hours and provides over 300 beds for men and over 75 beds for women and children. We have over 100 men taking part in work therapy programs every day.”
